Summertime = time for sports & fun in the sun
In summer, days of holiday are long beginning early with a good and extensive breakfast, putting the entire range of holiday options in the region Obervellach – Reisseck at your feet. Water parks – “splish, splash, I am taking a bath …”
Is summer too hot for hiking, too nice for museums and too fun for driving long distances to daytrip destinations? Then don’t waste any time and head for the Obervellach water park. The outdoor pool with its 68 m long water slide makes for plenty of fun, while the neck showers, floor jets or bubble steps take care of any tensions adults may suffer. And if the weather is not “summerly” enough, warm water, an indoor garden and nice dining options await you in the indoor pool. Things also heat up in summer in the Kolbnitz open-air pool. Here water lovers will find a lap pool, non-swimmer’s pool and a children’s pool. Non-water options include a children’s playground, a volleyball and a basketball court for motivated sports fans from near and far. Our open-air pools are always worth a visit.
Motivity Park Obervellach
Agility and skills are also the theme in the sensational Motivity Park in Obervellach. What on earth is a motivity park? Good question, it’s about skilfulness, balance and coordination. In the Motivity park some 28 stations await at which you can practice your motivity and coordination in the great outdoors. Beautifully presented and featuring natural materials such as wood and bark mulch, the motivity park is accessible all year round at no cost. On request, qualified coaches will show you how best to complete the individual stations.
Fishing – “Good fishing” in Mölltal Valley
The Möll River has an excellent reputation among anglers. The water of one of Austria’s cleanest rivers is a true paradise for graylings, who present a real challenge for you and your fishing rod with their nimbleness and skill. “Catch and Release” is the motto for graylings, with only river and rainbow trout allowed to be removed. Especially the high art of fly fishing attracts many anglers to this wonderful territory by the Möll River every year. The fishing territory of Reisseck on the Möll together with the Rottau reservoir covers up to 36 hectares and is home to graylings, river trout, brown trout, rainbow trout and char. Something you and your fishing rod should not miss out on in any case.
Golf – your personal “Hole in one”
Playing golf before majestic peaks, green forests and white glaciers, golf amidst the Hohe Tauern. Welcome to the Golfclub Mölltal. The golf practice area in GC Mölltal includes a driving range, putting, chipping and pitching greens, as well as various bunkers. The facility was built in 2015/2016 and is thus still relatively new. On the 320 m2 artificial lawn and partly covered driving ranges you can enjoy the wonderful sport of golf in the great outdoors of the Hohe Tauern. The local golf school can help you improve any shortcomings and after your round you can relax on the sun terrace of the Pristavec restaurant with local specialities.

Tennis – “game, set & match”
In the Obervellach tennis centre and in the Kolbnitz tennis facility fierce matches take place regularly When the sun is high in the sky transforming the red clay into a sports arena, people meet up to play singles, doubles or complete tennis tournaments. In the Obervellach tennis centre, we extend the tennis season into winter and relocate into the indoor tennis centre. Two former squash courts and one tennis court have been transformed into an exercise centre by the Sportunion Obervellach. Avid exercise talents and those who want to become so take part in Pilates lessons, gymnastic groups or targeted memory training. Join in and boost your agility.
