Cross-country skiing

Be it skating or classic, the main thing is to enjoy it in wonderful nature

“The air is bone-chilling cold, the snow crystals sparkle in the sun on the snow blanket. You’re getting ready, strapping on the cross country skis and setting off. At first the cold still numbs you, but with every metre you’re warming up. Almost silently you glide along before the wonderful backdrop of the Hohe Tauern…” Cross-country skiing is a particularly nice way of experiencing winter, and its keeps you fit as well.

20 km groomed ski trails

The network of ski trails around the townships of Obervellach and Reisseck is one to behold. Up to 20 km of optimally groomed ski trails are available to choose from. Most have their starting point in Obervellach at the bridge across the Möll and lead in direction of Gratschach or Söbriach all the way to the smeltery and further on to Flattach. Those who want to tackle the entire network of ski trails hopefully have enough time on their winter holidays in the Hohe Tauern.
