High above the national park community of Mallnitz you’ll find another gem of ski sports, in addition to the Mölltal Glacier. The long-standing ski area of Ankogel has developed into a true insider’s tip for freeriders in recent years. The snow situation is usually good, the freeriding terrain diverse and the longest ski slope in Carinthia with up to 1,600 m difference in altitude a real challenge for the thighs. Five lifts will carry you up, where an ideal beginners’ area with economical rates awaits.

Skiing fun at up to over 3,000 m above sea level, that’s what awaits you in Carinthia’s highest and only glacier ski area by Mölltal Glacier. Your journey into the high mountains starts in the municipality of Flattach, as soon as you get on the mountain cableway. At an altitude of up to 3,122 m, 9 lifts, a 7 km long FIS racecourse and a dedicated carving slope await you almost all year round, as well as optimal snow conditions. Those who stop off for a break in the panorama restaurant can enjoy marvellous views into the Hohe Tauern.
