Gastronomy & good food

“Indulgent pleasure” at the south side of the Alps

Nature, indulgence and gastronomy go brilliantly together. Especially when talking about a region which not only offers natural beauty, but is also able to yield a large number of sustainable, regional and high-quality products. A combination that simply does good and contributes to a desirable lifestyle for us locals, guests and visitors to our beautiful region.

What’s that swimming in the Möll?

The Möll River is not just a natural paradise, it is also popular with fly fishermen from near and far. The main feature of the natural fish population in the Möll is grayling, which of course provide many a culinary delectation. If you’ve ever tasted grayling on buckwheat-vegetable bubble and squeak, you will surely have been delighted. No matter if you caught the fish yourself or not. By the way, that fish with its valuable Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids is healthy is known far and wide, anyhow. Enjoy your meal and good fishing.

Feasting by the Alpe-Adria-Trail

Just because you’re walking a long-distance hiking trail doesn’t mean you should not feast like there’s no tomorrow. Along the legendary Alpe-Adria-Trail, you can experience the various regions through which the trail leads even in a culinary regard. After walking, specialities such as Glockner lamb, Tauern veal or Alpine salmon are served up to enchant the senses. That makes walking the next day even more enjoyable and provides enough energy for the long way.

Lamb from the Hohe Tauern

Enjoyment from the region and in the region, there is hardly a better way to put this motto into a practice than with the Hohe Tauern lamb, a true speciality of the region. It grows up in the region, enjoys the healthy and tasty grass and herbs of the Hohe Tauern, thus ensuring high meat quality and regional delights. Every year in late summer, we celebrate a big festival in honour of the Tauern lamb and enjoy great, regional dishes combined with a large number of healthy products from the region.
